After a thorough and meticulous restoration and refurbishment in 1990, it became part of the prestigious Majestic Hotel group in 2005. The name Montalembert comes from Charles Forbes Montalembert, a famous politician, writer and member of the prestigious Academie Française.

With Louis Philippe antiques with a modern twist, Contemporary and Classic Rooms have been designed with comfort in mind. Rooms have modern facilities, including flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi internet access and ipods with a Bose sound system. Each room features innovative bronze lights cast by Eric Schmitt, which illuminate Jean-Pierre Godeaut’s photographs and Giuseppe Castiglioni’s engravings. All bathrooms are designed with chrome, Cascais marble floors, velvet-feel bathrobes and Molton Brown amenities. In the very spirit of the French Architect Christian Liaigre, the bedspreads bring taupe, tobacco or cinnamon tones to the new cosy beds.

Comfortable grey and taupe cushions, beige linens and oak wood all add to the elegant feel of the restaurant. A wide range of dishes come under 4 main categories: Terre, Mer, Végétal, and Soleil, available in either “dégustation” or “gourmet” size. The guests will appreciate the monthly change of the whole selection and the innovative cuisine of the Chef Eric Brujan. The "Salon Gallimard", named after the famous publishing company in the neighbourhood, is dedicated to private functions for up to 10 people. For all meetings up to 20 people, the “Salon Correspondent” For business rendezvous, tea time or an evening drink, the library and its fire place offers an intimate and cosy corner. When spring rolls around, the terrace becomes the ideal place to enjoy lunch or dinner in a peaceful atmosphere. Open daily, with a full menu available from noon until 22:30. Breakfast from 07:00 until 10:30. 24 hour room service - The restaurant's full menu can be served in guests' rooms from noon until 22:30. From 22:30 onwards, a lighter selection is available.
